Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is an Mexican singer and musician born into a musical family. She grew up listening mostly to classical music, old boleros in addition to traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana is a lover of opera, tangos and the various forms of dramatic performing. Her mother taught her how to sing, but she began an intensive training in vocals with Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when his name was known as a famous Mexican opera tenor. She furthered her training in music through the School of Music of Guadalajara University and later at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara along with Mexico City, she was part of numerous opera groups and chamber choirs. In 2000, she emigrated in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she relocated to her present home in Southern California. She performs current traditional Latin American songs at private occasions as a soloist. The passion and love she has for arts, music and performing keeps her involved in a myriad of local activities as a performer, teacher, and instructor. Ana is also a former member of Community Chorus of Redlands as well as members of the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able give others a taste of her passion for traditional Latin American music. She is hoping that it will encourage younger generations to help keep the traditions alive.
